OCCF continues its track record of success in rallying philanthropic support for Orange County’s most impactful nonprofits

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (Jan. 5, 2023) – The Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF) has announced that its iheartOC Giving Days have garnered a cumulative $20 million in charitable contributions to fuel the missions of local nonprofits. Launched as a single countywide day of giving in 2015, OCCF’s initiative has evolved into a year-long series of Giving Days bringing together donors and nonprofits to address Orange County’s greatest needs. To date, the $20 million contributed has benefited 1,254 local nonprofits in their missions to support the county’s most vulnerable residents.

iheartOCAnnounced at OCCF’s 2022 Annual Meeting on December 1, 2022, by President and CEO Shelley Hoss, the $20 million Giving Day milestone not only reflects the success of the past but growing momentum for the future. In 2022, OCCF’s iheartOC Giving Days attracted support from more than 6,700 donors and yielded $4.7 million for local nonprofits, making it the program’s most successful year to date.

“On OCCF’s 25th anniversary in 2015, a single iheartOC Giving Day was our gift to the Orange County community, and each year since, our neighbors have answered the call to give where their hearts live,” said Hoss. “Our community’s faithful support and enthusiastic engagement motivate us as we build on this foundation of generous support for Orange County nonprofits.”

OCCF’s iheartOC Giving Days use an online giving platform to match local donors to Orange County nonprofits with shared missions – from homelessness and workforce development to preserving ecosystems and supporting at-risk youth – to create momentum on a shared day of giving and leverage their collective outreach efforts.

OCCF’s Giving Days have raised a total of $20,966,161 since 2015. The first two countywide iheartOC Giving Days in 2015 and 2016 raised a combined total of $5,080,705. The new Collaborative Giving Day model launched in 2017 has raised $15,885,456 to date through the following annual Giving Days:
