IRVINE, Calif. (June 19, 2026) — In a remarkable celebration of community strength and progress, the African American Alliance Fund (AAAF) at the Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF) has announced $217,000 in grants to 38 organizations across Orange County, Calif., and surrounding regions. This latest round of funding brings the total grants awarded by the AAAF since its inception in 2020 to $1.2 million, significantly impacting local nonprofit organizations committed to fostering systemic change and uplifting African American communities in Orange County and beyond.
Established on June 19, 2020, by Tammy Tumbling, President of the Orange County Community Foundation, the AAAF was built on the mission to address systemic racism and bolster initiatives that uplift African American communities across California, nationally and internationally. By investing in Black-led and Black-serving organizations, the Fund underscores its dedication to equity, opportunity, and thriving communities.

These investments do more than address immediate needs, they highlight exemplary work, strengthen local leadership, expand opportunity, and equip communities to flourish.”
