International humanitarian organizations have sprung into action in Morocco, following a 6.8 magnitude earthquake that tragically claimed the lives of 2,681 individuals and left over 2,500 injured. In Libya, a devastating flood has resulted in thousands reported dead and more than 10,000 still missing.

You can play a vital role in helping the victims in both regions by donating to the reputable nonprofit organizations noted below. Together, we can extend a helping hand to those in need and provide hope for a brighter future.

The International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC) has already released $1.1 million from its Disaster Response Emergency Fund to help support Moroccan Red Crescent relief efforts and has announced an emergency appeal for 10 million Swiss Francs to scale up the Libyan Red Crescent’s relief efforts. Grants will go through the American Red Cross.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is actively coordinating with local authorities to evaluate long-term support requirements for both regions. Contributions are being utilized to offer shelter, access to clean drinking water, medical attention, protection, and psychosocial assistance.

GlobalGiving is providing immediate aid, including shelter, medicine, mental health assistance, and vital supplies for both disasters. GlobalGiving aims to provide economic relief and long-term assistance to the affected regions through the Morocco Earthquake Relief Fund and Libya Flood Relief Fund.

CARE focuses on assisting rural youth and disadvantaged groups, with a particular emphasis on women, girls, the elderly, families with young children, and those who cannot access other emergency services. They are currently gathering donations to provide immediate assistance to survivors of the Morocco earthquake and Libya flood, utilizing the funds for essential needs like emergency water, food, shelter, and medical support.

The International Medical Corps has deployed an Advance Emergency Medical Team to support urgent relief and recover needs. Donations will help provide resources to deliver care to survivors.
