Donor & Community Engagement Officer

Mayra Chavez began her work at the Orange County Community Foundation through an Education and Scholarship Assistant Internship in June 2015, before being hired to work with the Hispanic Education Endowment Fund (HEEF) in 2017. Now, as a Donor & Community Engagement Officer, Mayra manages the HEEF Scholarship program, serves as a liaison for HEEF Scholars, and provides core support for HEEF fundraising activities. Her previous experience includes volunteer work with several nonprofits in Orange County and years of financial aid and student support at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. She is a Phi Beta Kappa Scholar, a SAGE Scholar, and an Hermana of Hermanas Unidas Inc. Mayra graduated from UCI with a joint Bachelor of Arts Degree in Urban Studies and Criminology, Law and Society, and a minor in Chicano/Latino Studies.
