Continuing to make impact across Orange County, OCCF adds two accomplished leaders to its Board
IRVINE, Calif. (March 30, 2026) — The Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF) announced the election of two distinguished members to its Board of Governors—Kayhan Mirza, a retired partner at Goldman Sachs, and L. Song Richardson, Chancellor’s Professor of Law at the University of California, Irvine School of Law.
Kayhan Mirza brings a wealth of experience from his career at Goldman Sachs, where he held several global leadership roles in Fixed Income and Currencies. His extensive experience also includes serving on key committees such as the Firm Wide Risk Committee and the European Management Committee. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Mirza was a Managing Director at J.P. Morgan, where he oversaw Global FX Derivatives trading.
L. Song Richardson returns to the UCI School of Law following her tenure as the 14th President of Colorado College, where she led initiatives to expand access and affordability, and prioritized student engagement and well-being. A civil rights lawyer by background, Richardson’s career is marked by her dedication to dismantling educational barriers and addressing institutional biases. Recognized as one of Orange County’s most influential leaders, she continues to serve on prestigious boards, including the American Association of Colleges & Universities and the American Law Institute.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kay Mirza and Song Richardson to our Board of Governors,” said Shelley Hoss, OCCF’s Chief Executive Officer of 26 years. “Their exceptional leadership and commitment to community impact align perfectly with our mission to inspire a passion for lifelong philanthropy. Their unique perspectives and expertise will be invaluable in advancing our Vision 2030 initiatives as we continue to address needs in Orange County and beyond.”
The addition of Mirza and Richardson marks a significant step forward for OCCF, which stewards more than $850 million in assets held in 700 charitable funds. Their contributions are expected to further OCCF’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and strategic philanthropy.
