OCCF Previews Five-Year Plan for Giving Opportunities In Orange County And Beyond

IRVINE, Calif. (Nov. 21, 2025) — The Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF) one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing community foundations, announced at its annual meeting a record $125 million awarded in grants and scholarships in FY 2025—the largest amount awarded in a year in the organization’s 36-year history. The event in Irvine, which drew 650 attendees, is one of the most significant philanthropic gatherings in Orange County, bringing together the region’s major donors, business and civic leaders, community partners and nonprofits to celebrate accomplishments and milestones in giving.

This year’s granting achievement brings the foundation’s cumulative granting to $1.25 billion since its inception, fueled not only by the generosity of local donors but by the foundation’s expert investment management, which resulted in the addition of $69 million in earnings to the assets under OCCF’s stewardship this year. The foundation supports more than 650 charitable funds that allow donors to give to the causes closest to their hearts in Orange County, across the nation and around the world.

“OCCF is passionate about bringing the charitable intentions of our donors to life, building stronger communities and leading the way with bold solutions to help create an Orange County where all have the opportunity to thrive,” said Shelley Hoss, OCCF’s Chief Executive Officer of more than 25 years. “We are immensely grateful to our donors, nonprofit leaders, and the Orange County community for their vision, partnership and generosity.”

The foundation also unveiled a first look at Vision 2030, a new five-year strategic plan to amplify giving and support donors’ philanthropic goals. “Supporting the local communities we hold dear is central to Vision 2030 through six core initiatives: economic opportunity, educational access, women’s health, environmental stewardship, youth mental health, and community power building,” said Tammy Tumbling, President of OCCF. “We are building a robust foundation for the future, where charitable giving is amplified to build momentum for good.”

Annual meeting highlights included inspiring keynotes on the transformative power of community by Lindsey Spindle, President of Samueli Family Philanthropies and Tam Nguyen, OCCF Board Member and Chair of Advance Beauty College.

OCCF invites the community to join in advancing its mission for Orange County’s future. To learn more about the Orange County Community Foundation and how you can make a difference, visit www.oc-cf.org.
