William Steiner

The Orange County Community Foundation mourns the passing of William G. “Bill” Steiner. Bill was a highly respected public servant who dedicated his life to the people of Orange County, with a special place in his heart for our most vulnerable children. He lived a life of leadership and service, serving on the Orange City Council, Orange Planning Commission, Orange Unified School District Board of Education, and Orange County Board of Supervisors. Bill was a passionate child welfare activist, founding the Good Samaritan Boy’s Home, national program director for Childhelp USA, and serving on the board of directors for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. He was the founding Executive Director of the Orangewood Foundation, and the driving force behind Orangewood Children’s Home.

Bill will be remembered for his many years of dedicated community service and by the many lives he touched, especially those of his five children and sixteen grandchildren. Learn more about Bill’s life and legacy from the OC Register (please note, article is behind a paywall).
