Beto Bedolfe

Marisla Foundation

Herbert Bedolfe serves as the executive director of the Marisla Foundation, which focuses on international biodiversity conservation, protection of the marine environment, environmental health, and human services. He is a member of the board and is the past chair of Oceana, an international conservation organization, and was also a board member and treasurer for the Consultative Group on Biological Diversity. He is a board member of the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association Environmental Fund and also serves on the advisory board of the Oceans Five Alliance. Herbert earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Swarthmore College and an MBA from California Lutheran University. Additionally, he served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay and speaks both Spanish and Portuguese. Before joining Marisla, Mr. Bedolfe worked for the U.S. Agency for International Development and the World Bank, completing assignments in Mozambique, the Cape Verde Islands and Sao Tome-Principe.
