A robust community partnership is changing the lives of Anaheim youth and charting a course for its next generation of leaders. Accelerate Change Together (ACT) Anaheim is a collaboration among business, community and nonprofit leaders addressing gaps in services for at-risk youth.
Formed in 2013 by The Disneyland Resort, Angels Baseball and the Anaheim Ducks, with OCCF serving as managing partner, ACT Anaheim is a collective response to the rising needs of Anaheim youth ages 13 to 18 impacted by poverty, academic challenges and limited opportunities. Its compelling mission and early success quickly attracted the interest of additional funding partners, allowing the initiative to expand the program’s scope.
ACT Anaheim gives the children of our community opportunities, resources and the encouragement they need to build a brighter future.
- Michael Colglazier, President, Disneyland Resort
To date, the collaborative of 22 funders has awarded a total of $6.8 million, positively impacting more than 18,900 youth, 5,900 parents and 3,600 other adults across the Anaheim area – and we’re just getting started.

To provide a measured assessment of ACT Anaheim’s impact, opportunities and vision for the future, OCCF partnered with the mission-driven consulting firm FSG to produce ACT Anaheim: A Case Study of Collective Impact. Through interviews with funders and nonprofit grantees, the report captures the path taken by ACT Anaheim and its partners and serves as a potential roadmap for future place-based collaborative programs.
