Dr. Maria E. Minon serves as CHOC Children’s senior vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer. She began her career at CHOC in 1998 in the position of Vice President Medical Affairs. Dr. Minon works to facilitate and oversee the activities of the medical staff; medical quality and patient safety, including risk management and regulatory affairs; pediatric psychology; pediatric mental health; medical directors; and operations for the clinical and basic science research departments. In January 2020, the Thompson Autism Center at CHOC Children’s will open and will also be under Dr. Minon’s leadership.
Dr. Minon serves on the Orange County Ronald McDonald House Board of Trustees including service as board chair from 2013 to 2015. She has also served on the California Medical Association Board of Trustees, Finance Committee, Nominating Committee and House of Delegates. She has served as president of the California Chapter IV of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
