Dr. Alberto Manetta

Dr. Alberto Manetta is a leading obstetrician and gynecologist and a former senior associate dean and professor at the University of California, Irvine. As a physician, he has developed innovative methods for early detection of cervical cancers among high-risk groups. He also directs the Program in Medical Education for the Latino Community (PRIME-LC), which prepares physicians and public health experts to meet health care needs of the Latino community. Dr. Manetta advocated for the well-being of Orange County’s Latino population as chair of the board of Latino Health Access. In his 10 years of service as senior associate dean of educational affairs at UC Irvine’s School of Medicine, Dr. Manetta oversaw the education of physicians as well health and nursing professionals at UCI Medical Center.
