Among the 2013 grants from the Next Gen Fund: $10,000 to Senior Serv to support Social Enterprise Strategic Planning,  $7,000 in General Operating to Save Our Youth (S.O.Y.) and $5,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim to support its Motel Outreach Program.

The Next Generation: Taking the Lead

The Next Generation Philanthropy group was created and is directed by young professionals and emerging leaders living and working in Orange County. Building on the Orange County Community Foundation's resources, members have established their own approach to supporting our community.

  • Family on the shoreOver the past four years, the Next Gen group has awarded $115,500 in grants to local nonprofits.
  • The group meets several times each year to discuss current community needs and have candid conversation with nonprofit leaders
  • The 2014 program is focused on looking at Orange County nonprofits whose programs strive to impact the root causes of the issues they deal with.  

Grant Program

Next Generation group members contribute to the Next Generation Philanthropy Fund and these gifts are matched by the OCCF board. Last year the group awarded $22,000 in grants to six local nonprofits through their collaborative granting process.
