Continuing Economic Crisis Deepens Local Needs; OCCF Responds with $500,000 Community Challenge
Every dollar donated will be doubled to help those in need with food, shelter, job and health services
National headlines may indicate that an economic recovery is underway, but here in Orange County, thousands of families are still struggling to make ends meet. And the local nonprofit safety net is being stretched to the breaking point.
Last year OCCF responded to the avalanche of social needs brought on by the economic crisis with our See the Need, Seed the Change initiative. Thanks to generous individuals, families and businesses, $832,500 was granted to 32 Orange County nonprofit organizations providing food, shelter and critical aid to those in greatest need. But there is still more work to do. In fact in many categories demand for services continues to grow.
Please join our community-wide response. We invite you to join us by supporting ReachOut OC: Our continuing response to neighbors in need. Our goal is to infuse at least $500,000 into our community to help the ongoing needs of our most vulnerable populations. This is a time when you can reach out to help a friend or neighbor in need. We are hoping to build on the momentum of the community’s overwhelming response to last year’s See the Need, Seed the Change effort and deliver another meaningful response to the greatest needs in Orange County.
Every contribution will be doubled! We invite you to join the generous donors and friends of the Orange County Community Foundation to reach out and support your neighbors in Orange County. And better yet, because OCCF will match every dollar contributed up to $250,000, the impact of your gift will be doubled!
Your tax-deductible contribution will help provide real-time support to families, children and individuals in need right here in Orange County. OCCF is underwriting all administrative expense for this program so 100 percent of your contribution will be put immediately to work to support exemplary nonprofit organizations providing food and shelter assistance, back-to-work services, and access to mental health and medical care.
