The Orange County Community Foundation connects donors and nonprofit agencies working towards a common goal: to improve the quality of life for our community. Our service-driven approach drives every action and decision. Simply stated, we make it easy for donors to grant effective and enduring gifts to charitable organizations whether in Orange County, the U.S. or the world. In addition, we partner with nonprofit agencies serving our community, and professional advisors counseling clients on estate and legacy plans.

We support philanthropy.
The focus of our mission extends to the nexus of local nonprofit agencies serving our community. We help strengthen nonprofit agencies to better respond to community needs with financial support and capacity-building programs. In this regard, the Orange County Community Foundation provides monetary grants from its unrestricted endowment and discretionary funds as well as from donor-advised funds – in fact $20.4 million was granted in fiscal 2007. The community foundation also provides training and workshops for local nonprofit management and board members to help them increase sustainability.

We facilitate philanthropy.
We help professional advisors help their clients make smart, well-informed charitable investment decisions. Every day, the county’s top lawyers, financial planners, and CPAs turn to us when navigating even the most complex estate plans. Whether it’s planning a gift of real estate, setting up a legacy fund or establishing a family foundation, our experienced gift planning department is responsive and well informed. By functioning as an extension of their professional network, we are facilitating philanthropy that will positively impact our community today, tomorrow and forever.
